Pink swirl meringues


A beautiful dessert made with only three ingredients. Follow the instructions to make your own beautiful marbled meringues.

ingredients

4 egg whites

225 g caster sugar

pink food colouring

pink sprinkles

a large baking tray, lined with baking paper

makes 6

instructions

1. Wash and dry a large mixing bowl.

2. Beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff.

3. Gradually add the sugar and continue mixing until a stiff and glossy meringue forms.

4. Add a few drops of food colouring and gently swirl it into the meringue with a toothpick or a knife.

5. Drop spoonfuls of the meringue onto the prepared baking tray. Add more food colouring if it disappears in the meringue.

6. Bake in 90C-100C (fan) for around 2 hours or longer, it will depend on your oven.
